Where Are You, Adam? plot

Mount Athos is an autonomous monastic republic under Greek sovereignty. It has twenty monasteries. Women are not allowed there. It is the spiritual and cultural center of the Byzantine Church. Since 1990, the number of monks and novices has increased dramatically. This is thanks to the influx of often graduates from the former Soviet Union. Filmmaker Aleksandr Zaporoshchenko visits the island and shows the images of nature, the rhythms of the seasons and the monks' devotion, their trials, pain and togetherness.
