Il Colibrì plot
The story takes place over a span of several decades. Marco has a platonic relationship with Luisa in the 1970s. He himself marries Marina with whom he welcomes a daughter. However, their relationship does not last. When Marco finds it difficult to cope with adversity, he enlists the help of the psychoanalyst Carradori.

A special film.
After seeing this film twice and reading the book once, I can say something about it.
In accordance with the book, the film makes a messy impression. Although I think messy is more likely to be restless. This is due to the many time jumps that are made. 10 years added and just another 5 years taken off. So you have to pay close attention.
The film is very worth watching, but the watchability (self-made word) is difficult. But if you struggle through this, you will eventually arrive at a gem of a film. Old-fashioned Cinema Italiana. Movies that are better than the book are a rarity for several reasons. That doesn't work here either. A number of facets and characters in the book are not given enough space in the film. But as mentioned, a very watchable film with beautiful cinematography, strong dialogue scenes, strong drama, and solid acting.
What the film is about is about a man who survives. What and how? Then go watch this movie or read the book (recommended!) and notice that it provides answers to the questions you haven't even asked.
