In Search of Derrick Thomas plot

Derrick Thomas did not have an easy life. At the age of five, his father, an Air Force pilot, went missing in Vietnam after a mission. As a minor in a rough Miami neighborhood, Thomas got into trouble with the law and a judge gave him a second chance. He improved his life, became a star on the football field and caught the attention of the University of Alabama, where he established himself as arguably the greatest pass rusher in college football history. But at the age of 33, he was paralyzed in a car accident and died shortly after.
