"The birth of boxing."
In 1800, 19-year-old James 'Jem' Belcher grows up in poverty and surrounded by violence and addiction. Jem is rescued by Bill Warr, a benevolent mentor, and the discipline of boxing. He becomes the youngest world champion ever, but after a terrible accident, Jem becomes blind in one eye and can no longer defend his title. Defeated, he returns to his past, causing destructive demise. Ultimately, Jem refuses to give up and slowly finds his way to recovery to reclaim his title and a place in history as a pioneer of the sport.

Nice piece of boxing history and quite a reasonable film with a great cast. The fights are not too spectacular but the life story is good and it all looks pretty nice. A small enough.
