Huns and Hyphens plot

Larry, who pretends to be a rich young man from the city, has a romance with Vera. She has developed a new invention, a gas mask, for use in war. However, German spies try to steal the plans for her invention. Vera also discovers that Larry isn't rich, but just a waiter. In addition, the owner of the restaurant where Larry works turns out to be the leader of the gang of spies. Larry tries to save both the plans and his beloved Vera.
