Rise plot
"A king will come from across the sea."
Charles and Veta Antetokounmpo emigrate from Nigeria to Greece. They try to survive and take care of their five children, while they face daily threats of deportation. With their eldest son still in Nigeria with relatives, they are desperate for Greek citizenship. Meanwhile, brothers Giannis and Thanasis play basketball on a local youth ball team. As latecomers to the sport, they discover their great abilities on the basketball court and work hard to become world-class athletes along with their brother Kostas.
