You Will Not Have My Hate plot

Antoine Leiris is a culture journalist whose wife was killed during the attacks in Le Bataclan at the end of 2016. He then posted an open letter to the Islamic terrorists on Facebook. Antoine claimed that the terrorists had failed because they would never get his hatred. In this documentary, he seeks understanding from people who, like him, have experienced similar tragedies and are trying to pick up the thread again.

A day after Hélène [Camélia Jordana] died in the Bataclan attack in Paris on November 13, 2015, her husband Antoine [Pierre Delanconchamps], a frustrated writer, posts a Facebook message proclaiming that the terrorists will not get his hatred. When he closes his laptop, he thinks he can also close this chapter. His post has been shared thousands of times and received all sorts of messages of support. But soon he understands that he has barely started his grieving process, and that he also has to help his toddler son Melvil [Zoé Iorio] to cope with the loss of Hélène. Well-intentioned bereavement drama with a pretty naive main character and a fairly predictable course in the end. The prologue is good and also the scenes with Hélène's friend Bruno [Yannick Choirat], who survived the attack, and Antoine's confrontations with relatives provide some good moments.
