1945. Asian Nadine Hwang is one of the survivors who was transferred to Sweden from Ravensbrück concentration camp. A year earlier she met Nelly, the love of her life, in the camp. Archive footage tells the wonderful life story of both women.

Nelly and Nadine met in horrific circumstances and perhaps the close bond that kept them together for the rest of their lives was forged.
A curious story that remained hidden for a long time, also from family, but with the help of a diary, letters, photos and some testimonials, the story came to life.
Touching images at the beginning of liberated women upon their arrival in Sweden set the tone, followed by the tenacity with which information was searched for and the memories that are mainly recalled by Nelly's descendants.
The further lives of both women seem to have gone smoothly. Documentary is very scanty when it comes to possible permanent psychological scars and traumas. It was also difficult considering the time when it was created.

Magnus Gertten has long been committed to discovering the personal stories of the people who can be seen in archive images from April 28, 1945. It concerns the arrival survivors of concentration camps in Malmö. Most of them look very happy, except for an Asian-looking woman. In this documentary, Gertten tries to discover what lies behind Nadine Hwang's stoic gaze. The answer is related to Nelly Mousset-Vos, a woman she met in Ravensburg concentration camp and who is not seen in the archive footage. Contains conversations with relatives who, remarkably enough, take the time for the first time to delve into the history of their grandparents and come to astonishing conclusions, especially for themselves. A fascinating approach for a documentary, but the most important points have been mentioned halfway through. Gertten then has little to add.
