The relationship between Wouter [Gijs Naber] and Iris [Hadewych Minis] is strained during a boat trip from Morocco to Spain, during which one of their sons [Mus Nelson] goes missing. The ship's captain [Karim Saidi] is feuding with his wife [Soumaya Akaaboune] because their daughter [Ahlaam Teghadouini] is pregnant by an immigrant. Paramedics Raoul [Marco Cáceres] and Luis [Antonio Estrada] find a body washed ashore on the Spanish coast. These storylines intersect in a way that isn't always surprising in this well-acted, yet slow-moving tragedy.

Three stories about a ferry from Morocco to Spain. A Dutch family is crossing. And their son gets lost on board. The captain's daughter is about to give birth. And then, in Spain, there are two ambulance workers, one of whom is in love with the woman who runs the diner at the harbor. The film moves incredibly slowly, and all the while you wonder where the storylines will converge. Towards the end, you do start to get a sense of what's going on. But as slowly as the film moves, the ending arrives just as quickly, and suddenly the film is over. And as a viewer, are you suddenly left with all sorts of questions about what happens next? An incredibly unsatisfying ending, which really makes you wonder why you should have watched this film at all. Although the acting is quite good, and there are some beautiful images, the film could have done better in that respect. But not like this.
