Sarah [Lydia Leonard], Edward [Timothy Spall] and Alfons [Sverrir Gudnason] have completed a course to help them overcome their fear of flying. Finally, they fly from London to Iceland and back again under the guidance of the inexperienced course leader Charles [Simon Manyonda]. The outbound flight does not go smoothly, and the return flight appears to be so delayed that the participants have to spend a night in a 'luxury hotel'. The screenplay has all the ingredients for an old-fashioned screwball comedy, but also some tasteless jokes about dick pics and PTSD, but Sigurðsson completely misses the mark, causing even the best jokes to fail at all.

Weak film that I only caught because it was Icelandic. And maybe also a little because Timothy Spall is participating. Things didn't start badly though. The entire stretch before landing was quite pleasant. Always fun to observe people with panicky fears. Their irrational behavior and facial expressions are interesting to follow.

Afterwards the film completely waters down. No longer funny and even downright annoying. Fortunately, these types of films never really last long, so you survive.

A trifle for Spall who has so much more to offer.

Weak.

A strange little film that starts off a bit dull, but leaves the door wide open for a fun sequel. Only, the beginning turns out to be the best part. Yes, the last half hour is loud and silly, and some (far-fetched) things happen. It's just not funny, and none of the characters are fully developed. I was glad when it was over.
