"THE BROWN BOMBER OF MIRTH IN A LAUGHING KNOCKOUT!"

Whiskers, a timid book reviewer for a metropolitan newspaper, is fired, along with the operator Lucy Walters, his girlfriend. They decide to have dinner together and discuss a book Whiskers is writing. Whiskers also decides to change his appearance, after which he has his beard shaved off in a barbershop. However, without his facial hair, he is the exact spitting image of 'Brute' Hanson, a gang leader who has just been released from prison.
