Mister Mayfair plot

Former New York mobster Max Mayfair (Armand Assante) is doing well in London as the owner of a nightclub where he receives the most glamorous guests. His luxurious life is jeopardized when Mike and Armen, two old friends, show up because they got into trouble in New York. Moreover, Max receives a visit from his granddaughter Barbara, who manages to persuade the gentlemen to break into Portugal with her fiancé JB. Unfortunately, the stolen money turns out to be from the Russian mafia and Max has to fall back on his criminal past to protect his family.

A cheaply made, poorly edited crime comedy in which a retired safe expert [Armand Assante] is persuaded by the daughter [Soraya Torrens] he never knew to take on one last lucrative job. Bauer and Davitian are the supposedly funny accomplices. Assante does an enthusiastic James Caan impersonation as Sonny Corleone, while Bauer has absolutely no taste for comedy. Martinez does his best to use as many different subterfuges as possible.
