The Amityville Rising plot

"To serve. To protect. And to fight the undead."

A chemical explosion takes place at a military base. Sergeant Dash tries to keep the peace at a police station during a toxic rain that causes skin to melt away. Dead come to life and attack people. Dash and policewoman Nina Rossi try to fend off attacks in an effort to protect colleagues.

Director Thomas J. Churchill borrows from John Carpenter by more or less completely adopting the concept of Assault on Precinct 13. Of course, this is an Amityville movie, so you can expect a completely different and less real threat. To my surprise, however, it looks quite solid, with enough interesting situations and a somewhat unpredictable course. Nevertheless, Churchill does not know what to do with setting the atmosphere and/or building up tension, so you watch without any feeling. The unenergetic design also contributes to this in a negative way and the constant news interruptions quickly become boring, but the running time was a lot smoother compared to the other films within this universe.
