La Mif plot
A group of teenage girls live in a family replacement home, along with involved social workers. The forced 'family' experience creates a lot of tension among residents and carers. A series of events exposes the sensitivities surrounding youth care. This causes problems.

A glimpse into the kitchen of the French youth care follows the vicissitudes of a number of young people who, under the guidance of Lora [Claudia Grob], struggle to find a future perspective after they have been placed out of their homes for various reasons. The starting point is interesting, but Baillif opts for an episodic approach in which he always uses the same formula: one of the young people has fun, ends up in a crisis situation, is discussed within the support team and each chapter is closed with a musical motif that evokes memories of the French Nouvelle Vague but soon starts to get bored. We get to know far too little about the characters, so there is hardly any depth.
