Mediocre.

It's actually kind of painful to see Shane West and Stephen Lang showing up in these kinds of movies these days. West may think he has gold in his hands, but Lang is really too experienced and too good to get involved. If it is then only used to a limited extent, you notice that he would think the same himself.

This film could use it to its advantage that it still looks reasonable in terms of environment. Nice location too, is ideally chosen to build a calm but uncomfortable atmosphere. Many facilities are therefore used properly. Definitely necessary, because otherwise the film will fall apart quickly. Camera work is a bit boring and the tension doesn't come out anywhere, but it stays where it can squeeze the most power. That's nice.

The mysterious first half and core that is not immediately revealed ensure that Mid-Century is not completely disastrous to watch. Other than that, it's just a bit monotonous. Relying a bit too much on the story, which becomes too ridiculous in the finale. O'Hara reaches around her to find support, but she doesn't get it because the film is visually underpowered.

Too few intriguing filters, too little patience and above all a dull camera make the presentation too difficult to properly give the film an atmosphere. A beautiful location and good acting from a cast that is actually a bit too good for this film, but good. Typical horror film that doesn't take too long to make and is forgotten almost immediately.
