Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness plot

The film is set in the kingdom of Plumbeard. Young Hopper Chickenson is the adopted son of King Arthur, a famously adventurous hare. Hopper himself is half chicken and half hare and obsessed with adventure, but he is rather clumsy. When King Arthur's brother Harold escapes from prison to seek out the almighty Hamster of Darkness and oust his brother from the throne, Hopper decides to go after him. With the help of his faithful servant Archie, a sarcastic turtle, and Meg, a skunk and martial arts expert, he embarks on an epic adventure.

Actually, everything was already in my previous post when I hadn't seen the film yet. Predictable and perfectly in line with all other films by Ben Stassen. In my opinion, it is even one of his better animated films, but not to such an extent that it necessarily stands out. Stassen succeeds in bringing together well-known formats from the film world and turning them into a fun story.

Ideal for children too, a bit adventurous, exciting and full of action. Indiana Jones in a child-sized format and made into an animated film. It may be a bit obvious that misfits can also be great if they believe in themselves, but come on, I'm willing to overlook that.

The characters are also quite fun. Always love it when animals develop those human traits. Many animals are therefore often cut out for their stereotypical role. You can also see this clearly in, say, Sing or Zootropolis. Not great, but certainly suitable for an outing with the children. The humor is good, the pace is just as good and the animals are also fun (turtle, skunk, ...).

I didn't have great expectations for this film, but I still thought it was a fun adventure film. The story itself wasn't super surprising, but it wasn't boring either.

Visually I thought it was fine and therefore looked good.

A beautiful adventure film for young and old.
