Marie works as a chef in a retirement home in a small mountain town in the south of France. Although she seems relatively well-adjusted, Marie harbors a painful secret: she is a former child soldier. She silently struggles with the remnants of her traumatic past and hides her post-traumatic stress disorder from those around her. Impressive film based on an equally impressive story, performed by a strong cast. Yet it is also a film with few surprises. It soon becomes clear where it is ultimately going. I thought the ending, and especially Marie's part, was a bit too much.
