A slasher that adds nothing original and few attractions to the subgenre. In principle, a reasonably pleasant film that actually manages to conjure up a small dose of tension. Soon, however, the film flattens into something very ordinary and cannot be watched without frequent yawning. With little spectacular drama, the film appropriates a sleep-inducing cadence that is occasionally interrupted by a murderous spree. Fortunately.

In the long run, the only thing that gives the film any potential is the question of the killer's identity and motive. The identity of the killer still surprised me. The motif turns out to be an underrated facet and is shoved down the viewer's throat very banally and without much fuss. Not significant. The movie very easily washes away whatever potential it had left and ends up with nothing.

At the end I almost felt sorry for the killer. He (or she) goes to great lengths to find background information about his victims, to act and dress like a real psychopathic killer and to decorate the crime scenes fantastically. And for what? I actually have no idea. Do you look good as a killer with an undeveloped motif. At the end of the film, no one knows why the murders were staged so brilliantly. Poor Killer.

Technically, the film is okay. Decent camera work and great kills. Due to the poor interpretation of the characters, it looks a bit clinical. The characters are obviously flat and uninteresting. That's a shame because some of them have enough potential to be more than empty shells. However, they are not allowed personal development, so that the emotional involvement with the beef cattle is nil.

I didn't like it.

Little atmospheric slasher film. The clichés come up again, although the gang of teenagers on duty was interesting. It's not bad, but it doesn't do anything with the genre at all. The known path, a killer in a mask and a secret from the past. Scream remembered it was a parody, but this movie just floats along in the line of similar movies.
