Some visually competent images provide some sparse atmosphere within this exceptionally mediocre Nigerian film. The leading role is played by Idia Aisien and she has the challenging task of playing an endearing character in a film of no less than 140 minutes. Unfortunately, the directing duo, consisting of Zeb Ejiro and Tosin Igho, completely chokes on the casting. Aisien is a particularly boring character and lacks all the charisma required for her role. As a viewer, you are stuck with her for the entire running time, but it quickly becomes a tiring viewing experience. Tiring eventually turns into unbearable if we also add the lousy sound editing (some texts were clearly filmed on location and other dialogues in a sound studio), the constant switching between coal English and the authentic African language and the story that just rattles on without anything like that. a colossal playing time should be justified in some way. Many police officers investigate the fantasy murders in Nneka the Pretty Serpent and can't find any leads, even though almost every one of them is committed in public and heavily guarded locations. It's unbelievable what a mess this movie is, topped off by a relentlessly ugly soundtrack offset by Larry Gaaga.
