Meh, it tries to be original but really gave me flashbacks to Hotel Transylvania, which just had to go on vacation. The first part was okay, but this one is truly too bland for words. Maybe I'm not the right target audience or watched at the wrong time, but this wasn't for me.

Four screenwriters couldn't think of anything better than an excuse to send The Addams Family on a road trip across the US to cheer up Wednesday [Chloë Grace Moretz]. But just at that moment, the family discovers that Wednesday may have been switched at birth and is therefore not a “real” Addams. Meanwhile, Grandma Addams [Bette Midler] turns the Addams household upside down. A weak and unnecessary sequel to The Addams Family with a vague story, but without any originality. Only Bill Hader's contribution in the villain role prevents this from receiving the lowest possible rating.

It opened quite interestingly, with Wednesday putting together a high-profile school science project, but the Route 66-esque trip through the US that followed didn't sufficiently explore the typical morbid, gloomy atmosphere, and relied too heavily on the most iconic tourist attractions. It could have been better. And the subplot regarding the babies who may or may not have been swapped also fell flatter than it could have. Cousin Itt also looks more like a Minion to me than the familiar Addams character. And the grandma... why was she even in the story at all?
