"Paradise is about to get complicated."
In the wake of a shattered music career, Erica, an aspiring pop star, ends up entertaining her ex-fiancé, Jason's wedding. Reluctantly, she performs at a luxury resort on the island of Mauritius and tries to keep her past relationship with Jason a secret from his bride-to-be, Beverly. However, Erica rediscovers her feelings for Jason, despite his brother Caleb's efforts to prevent it.

Oh yes, you know what to expect and to be honest the film is entertaining enough due to the light-hearted romantic aspect in a beautiful location and the nice cast. Brothers Jason (Jay Pharoah) and Caleb (Sinqua Walls) are almost opposites, but still have a good bond with each other at important moments. TJ Power as Barrington is the jack of all trades: he plays guide, plays guitar in the music group, causes inconvenience in the hotel and also does the wedding service. Christiani Pitts as Beverly plays her role mischievously and believably, but most of the credits go to the lead actress Christina Milian as Erica, who plays a warm, sensitive singer and, no matter how trivial the story sounds, still manages to bring a certain conviction to her role. 6/10
I only now see that Milian is really a singer, okay, that explains the persuasiveness.

Romcom on the tropical island of Mauritiuz. Everything is depicted very colorfully. As if you were traveling at a luxury resort yourself. Beautiful pictures of the island and the resort. The story itself is not completely cliché and makes it a pleasant film to watch. Does not come across as cheap as you sometimes experience with B-movies of the Hallmark genre. This one is a nice love story. Occasionally nice humor without exaggerating. Intro film is a bit overacting and makes you hesitate to continue watching, but once you arrive on the island, the film starts to get going. You can see that the cast is having fun and everyone has their part in the film. They are all doing well for me. One of the better rom-coms. 4*
