Blood Red Sky plot
A group of terrorists hijacks a transatlantic flight on which a mother and her son are present. However, it turns out that this mother carries a mysterious illness. She is not afraid to unleash her rage with this to get her son to safety.

A successful horror film that is more original than most vampire films of recent years. In terms of gore, you're in the right place with this movie. There are a lot of gory scenes in the film and they look good too. Same with makeup. The action scenes also look neat and the fact that almost everything takes place in the plane creates an oppressive feeling. The flashbacks may slow down a bit, but are necessary for the whole of the story. That there is criticism of the credibility ... well it is also horror and actually it is not that bad. The fact that that psycho injects himself with vampire blood is not that far fetched. What a mad man that was! The scene with the window pane is slightly different because you can't see it anymore. A horror film with a lot of entertainment and a nice lead actress. 6.5/10

I'm never a big fan of vampire movies, but this one sure did.
At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to see this one, because vampires never do much for me, but I gave this one a chance, because it was mostly set in an airplane. Didn't regret it afterwards. Film started quietly and showed with flashbacks how the mother became a vampire. Meanwhile, the plane is hijacked by terrorists and the passengers, including mother and son, must try to find a way to escape and land the plane safely. Of course things go wrong and at the end of the day almost everyone has become a vampire.
Enjoyed the movie. There were beautiful shots in between, the music was good and the atmosphere was well reproduced.
3.5 stars.

In advance I expected something in the tradition of Uwe Boll, but this Blood Red Sky was something more than a portion of horror pulp.
In addition to the horror elements, we were dealing here with a sensitive and also beautiful drama about a mother-son relationship. Characters are deepened and there is also plenty of fun with vampires. The acting is ok, the story is ok, the music is very atmospheric and they are even working towards a climax. Unfortunately it takes a bit long before that happens, but that is typical of the current film industry.
This does not detract from the fact that our eastern neighbors should be proud of this atmospheric horror piece that manages to pleasantly surprise here and there. Not a masterpiece, but it is a horror film with character that has more to offer than the umpteenth film adaptation of a classic.
