Nice, a real new Boe.

Not a police series in which he can co-direct something, but a full-fledged film that is much closer to his qualities. It's a shame that the magical elements have disappeared from his films, they still gave it that little bit extra.

Visually delicious. Camera work and lighting are great, the soundtrack is also great, although it is still a bit too classic for me. The romance is beautiful and the setting interesting, but I think there is too much focus on the story, which just kept my interest a little less. The premise is good, but the relationship is central and the ending divides just a little too much time between the two.

But above all it was enjoyable again. I did miss Boe's movies. Without fantastic elements, it is somewhat reminiscent of Doremus' films, one that I always enjoy watching. Hopefully this is a new start for Boe, on time and a video like this is allowed.

4.0* and a extensive review

Those gastronomic films have been trendy in recent years. In the years before, I mainly experienced such films from the Asian angle, with extra attention to the culture as a whole. From the Western world, culinary gastronomy in particular is highlighted, even promoted, as it were. It is therefore not surprising that Denmark is also making a film about it, because that country has several Michelin stars.

Christopher Boe behind the scenes, a fascinating director who I was curious about how he would approach it. As expected, technically very neat, fresh and flashy. The pressure and stress experienced in the kitchen or when a reviewer visits is very well depicted. The urge for perfection became very suffocating to Carsten's immediate environment.

The flashbacks are also well incorporated into the whole. Pretty authentic too I think. I was never bored with the good balance between the plot and the cooking. Fine!
