Ho Yat Gwan Joi Loi plot
Shanghai, 1941. The Japanese have effectively taken control of the city. On the run from Japanese agents, wounded resistance fighter Shun seeks refuge in a nightclub, where his former lover Mui-Ye as a singer is the main attraction. She takes care of him, but when Shun is back on his feet, they lose sight of each other again. When it becomes known that Shun was killed in a raid, Japanese security consul Noguchi offers himself up as Mui-Ye's guardian angel. Noguchi is in love with her.
