There Are No Lions in Tel Aviv plot

This documentary tells the story of the former Chief Rabbi of Copenhagen, Max Shorenstein. He was nicknamed Rabbi Doolittle because of his great love for animals. In 1935 Shorenstein left for Tel Aviv. Here he saw the opportunity to realize his dream: to set up a zoo. In this way he wanted to instill in the children of Palestine a love for animals. The Tel Aviv Zoo became a huge success: it was the region's biggest attraction. But there was also a downside. Envy, greed and corruption from city officials caused Shorenstein to be fired and banned from the animal paradise he created.
