Menendez Parte 1: El Día del Señor plot
Menéndez is a retired priest who lives in his dark and ruinous apartment and turns his back on the world. He suffers a crisis of faith and is haunted by terrible nightmares from his past. One day he is visited by Sebastián, an old friend who knows Menéndez's past. He claims that his daughter is possessed by the devil and begs for Menéndez's help.

No, this film could not really charm me. Very long build-up without any interesting scenes filled with boring dialogues. Dream sequences should make up for it, but they do not really work. When Sebastian's daughter is finally tied up, the film seems to become something. Fairly hard and nasty scenes pass by, but the film will not be really exciting or captivating. 4/10

Quite an enjoyable, but alternative approach to the exorcism horror genre. The only thing that is a pity, is the slow approach. The first part of the film is quite meaningless and even completely unnecessary. It is not necessarily about quality construction, it is just nonsense. The conversations between the girl and the priest seem to last forever. In between you do get to see some nightmares of the priest, but that is about it.
Once on the chair, the relaxed atmosphere changes completely. You finally see what devilish power resides in the girl. And the approach to exorcism was also one with a well ... powerful approach.
Tortures are then central and the girl herself does not leave unproven with her seduction tricks. Quite crazy at times and very good successful scenes. Too bad about the dull first part of the film, for the rest refreshing.
