To watch The Croods 2, it is useful to watch the first part again. Although we do get a little history of how it all worked. The Croods 2 is just as entertaining as the first part with one caveat. The last half hour almost completely drags the film down. From 4 stars to less than 3 stars. It's a shame, but let's start with the 1st hour. Although again busy with a lot of throwing and throwing, The Croods 2 remains a lot of fun, especially in the first hour. The characters in particular are a feast for the eyes. I thought the meeting with the Bettermans family was very original and fun, with Phill in particular playing a very nice role. Evolution at its finest. The jokes also remain very entertaining. It's all very fun up to this first hour, but then we get that monkey thing and I don't like it a lot less. The film becomes a lot less serious and we mainly see cuddly animals. All way too fluffy. As in Abominable also from Dreamworks. Those animals don't look like much either. This makes it all far too childish. The music also remains somewhat superficial in this second part.
In summary, we can say that The Croods 2 is very entertaining in terms of images and color for 60 minutes, but then deteriorates considerably in the last half hour.

Unfortunately, this second part fails to convince, as is so often the case with sequels. The second part is a bit too much, both in the colors and the story which sounds quite far-fetched. I think this was invented when the writers were stoned, this is definitely one of those movies. Oh yes, we're going to do punch monkeys. Genius! No, I found this second part a lot less that I even lost attention a few times.

The first fifteen minutes are quite nice as you get to know the family a bit again. Then the plot gets going and the film becomes busy, boring and nowhere really interesting. Ugly kitschy look too, although I still liked the first part visually. 1.5*.
