"Prut", is the word that comes up to describe this film in one word

The problem is mainly the length. Just like this is the corona version with 2h11m. A directors cut of 1h30m is more than enough to tell the story I mean; how long can you make 4 robots hunt humans Because that's basically all that happens. And if the killing was still "funny" (as in many horror comedies), then it was still acceptable, but this was more a case of "blér blér, ratatatatatata"

1.5 for the special effects (the robots were pretty nice).

It has potential.

I had my eye on Monsters of Man from the moment I added the film to the database. Then, however, the running time came forward, and I decided to wait with the film for a while. At first glance I expected a quick snack of a maximum of 90 minutes, but this film wants to be a bit more than that.

I just don't really understand why, because actually the film doesn't have much reason to stretch the film to 131 minutes. Presenting some intense images or subjects does not allow you to stretch your film that long. After all, I still see it as a relatively simplistic action film that is hampered by its own pace.

The action doesn't look too good either, as director Toia doesn't get the bullets very impressive or with adrenaline. The environment is nicely chosen and the nature is beautiful, but the action is simply not cool or raw enough to impress. It feels very repetitive, because action on a beautiful background has also been done by countless other B-movies before.

The acting is okay and Toia tries to give the characters a face, but unfortunately they don't become very unique. Not annoying either, so it's okay for me. The story has a nice pace during the first half, once you get into the second half it starts to get a bit boring. Since the film then lasts so long, you as a viewer need some time to get back into it, which I didn't even manage to do.

Overall, it's not a bad movie with some impressive design work. The robots look seriously good and Toia shows a talent in certain areas. However, it lacks effective pacing and really good action. Sometimes it is hard, but in general it is too safe. Not cool things to see here, and over a duration of 131 minutes that is something that will gnaw at you. But oh well, it is what it is.

Watched it today, I thought it was a surprisingly good action/Sf. movie!

Especially the beautiful locations in the jungle and the villages around it made it very atmospheric and in combination with the different robots, this film is very exciting!

Enough action and quite hard sometimes, also nice how they imagine a job through the location to stay away from the robots or to fight against them.

I thought the ending was a bit less, I expected a nice explosive finale but it was a bit less.

Please more of these kind of movies, because we haven't seen this before, maybe this one comes closest to a ''Predator'' like movie ..

PS. on my Blu-ray it said playing time: 98 minutes, but that was more than 2 hours of plenty of entertainment!
