Short film from the Disney house with its typical features in terms of music, character movements and animation in general. Imaginative images, very beautiful at times. It is a story of two lovers with an unattainable love. Nice to see once, but not memorable. A little too kitschy...

Disney & Dali in a project that has been on the shelf since 45 to release it in a finished version by 2003 and immediately be nominated for the Oscars. It's a look at what could have been, as this animation was normally part of a compilation movie. Never performed for financial reasons (especially anyway) in 1945 when the war in Europe had only just ended. The inspiration comes from Greek mythology, immortalized in the style of Dali. The result is a dreamy and timeless animation where you can't always see what comes from 45 and what from 2003. I think Disney played it safe with a little more fun, because in the late 1940s we got compilation films like Make Mine Music (where this might have just fit in), Fun and Fancy Free and Melody Time. It wasn't until the 1950s that the real long animation classics returned. By then Destino had long been forgotten, until it was happily picked up again.
