De Ietsnut plot

Twelve-year-old Marijn transforms the most mundane things into wonderful works of art. An artist in the making. Because of his exceptional talent, despite his very young age, he was admitted to the preliminary training of the Royal Academy of Art. But that also means that his work is being viewed and judged with a very critical eye for the first time.
