Fulton and Pepe return to the set for their new documentary fifteen years after their first attempt, where Gilliam, despite his uncertainty and the pressure to compromise, is shooting his new film. Using his talent, humor and new actors, among other things, he finally realizes his dream project that he failed for three decades: The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. Also 'He Dreams of Giants' is the result of what happened during the preparations and the recordings.

Third and probably last documentary by directors Keith Fulton and Louis Pepe about Terry Gilliam. When you see him here at work, fragile and exhausted, it is hard to imagine that this time he has managed to complete his dream project, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. The documentary is a beautiful but a bit sad portrait of an idiosyncratic filmmaker at the end of his career. It is a pity that his final film about Don Quixote turned out to be only a shadow of what Gilliam envisioned, but at least he managed to realize his dream.
