Filmmaker Amanda van Hesteren comes from a mixed family. She becomes increasingly estranged from her Surinamese mother, who manifests herself increasingly emphatically in the racism debate. Her mother's sharp statements come across to Amanda as pro-black and anti-white. Can their mother-daughter bond cope with this difference of opinion?
