Great simple low budget thriller/horror with strong acting from both the protagonist and the antagonist. As far as I'm concerned, the direction is what makes the film so good and different from these types of films. He knows how to make a character out of the environment. The crackling, the shots and frames are original and fascinating. Screenplay is strong, story unpredictable, music is original and fits the tension perfectly. One of the best movies of the year without a doubt

Hyams is growing. Here he makes the step from rather middle of the road Jean-Claude van Damme films to a solid, atmospheric thriller that, despite all its clichés, still proves effective. On the one hand, he owes this to strong roles by Willcox and Menchaca, but it is also certainly due to his style choices and general pacing of the film. It all ripples along nicely and feels very unforced. Many similar films suffer from wanting too much. The fact that some questionable decisions are made is something you should actually accept as standard, but this was relatively easy. You can't really do much more than that without entering the horror genre. So worth it!

Remake of a fairly obscure Scandinavian movie. Nice and exciting and quite well filmed for a low budget, which makes it a small find. It just happens that you are traveling alone and get stalked and kidnapped by a serial killer.
Alone is primarily a survival thriller in which only cold-bloodedness and overcoming fear offer a chance. Well executed, but I also had the somewhat less pleasant feeling that I had seen it all before.
