Unas Preguntas plot

After 12 years of military dictatorship (1973-1985) and the accompanying silence, it could not be taken for granted that the people of Uruguay in the late 1980s discussed such issues publicly in such a lively manner. Two women across the country took a camera into public spaces and asked various questions to countless passers-by. The reason was a controversial amnesty law passed in 1986 that grants impunity for human rights violations and crimes committed by the police and military under the dictatorship.
