Greece, ca. 1970. During the colonel's regime, Zoi is trapped in a remote army camp in a loveless marriage with the dour camp commander Manolis Loggos. Zoi has a secret admirer in the person of Lieutenant Karamanidis. He asks soldier Lazarou to teach him the tango, because he wants to dance with his commander's wife during the Christmas celebration. The dance lessons arouse unforeseen emotions...
