De Kleine Man, Tijd en de Troubadour plot
The troubadour from the title is artist Sipa Labakhua, who travels through his native Abkhazia with his autobiographical puppet theater performance. The sometimes surreal-looking piece is based on the misadventures of his father, his hero. He was a politician full of ideals who fled with his family to Moscow because of the war with Georgia, but could not settle there. Now the son has returned. He shares his concerns with the public and meets local residents. Driven by the questions "What is a country? What is home?", he collects memories and reflections from a motley crew – from nationalist Abkhazians to immigrants and artists.
