Sweet Thing plot
Billie and Nico live with their father, so the concept of a peaceful family life is alien to them. The adults in their lives don't care about their limits and are constantly out of bounds. In an attempt to taste some freedom, Billie and Nico embark on an adventure.

Billie [Lana Rockwell] and Nico [Nico Rockwell] have to contend with an alcoholic father [Will Patton] and a self-centered mother [Karyn Parsons]. The situation does not improve when father leaves the family to kick his addiction. Mother takes up with a guy [ML Josepher] who turns out to be much worse. However, Billie and Nico are not one to be fooled and with the help of Malik [Jabari Watkins], a boy they only met on the beach, they escape from their family. It helps that Malik has difficulty driving a car, that no one is surprised that a child is driving a car and that the children don't seem concerned at all about what happened. I challenge anyone who thinks that is not very credible to take in the lousy and forced happy ending.
The only explanation I can think of for the fact that this film is filmed almost entirely in grainy and chaotic black-and-white images is that screenwriter/director Alexandre Rockwell at least thinks of some semblance of variety with a few apparently randomly chosen color scenes. to be able to keep.
