Sydney Ragsdale is newly divorced and decides to spend Christmas in a house she inherited with her daughter. Sydney spends a lot of time in the local bookshop, where she discovers the teacher Mac. Not only is he a teacher, he will also play Santa during the holidays. Mac tries to make the Christmas wishes come true and this year Sydney is at the top of his list. When a new opportunity opens up for the bookstore, Mac helps Sydney open herself up to life and love and teaches her to believe in the Christmas spirit.
