After the French De Rothschild family puts the portraits of Marten & Oopjen on the market, the Rijksmuseum management started a fanatical lobby to collect the purchase price, 160 million euros, for this Dutch heritage. But what begins as an art deal between the Rijksmuseum and salesman Baron Eric de Rothschild, degenerates into a bloody battle between the Netherlands and France.
