Life Overtakes Me plot
Due to their trauma, hundreds of refugee children withdraw from the uncertainty of their lives into a comatose state, the so-called 'withdrawal syndrome'. This can take months, sometimes years. This mysterious disease seems to exist only in Sweden. The documentary focuses, among other things, on Daria, whose father has been beaten and tortured and her mother has been beaten, tortured and raped. Her family fled to Sweden and is now in the middle of their asylum procedure. Their chances of staying in Sweden are unknown. The deep fear that there is a small chance that she will have to return to her homeland put Daria in her coma.
