Quite a cliche Gay story, (Straight) man kisses another man, due to some incident, for a movie scene this time. (Which we don't even get to see, maybe the actors were afraid of the possible consequences..... 
) Man gets upset, and after some detours, comes back to the other man for further explorations.
The other man, Xavier Dolan himself, is mostly the passive object in this one.
The background is a group of friends in (near) Montreal, who show that French-speaking Canadians can just as easily chat and make a fuss as their European big little brother. A bit tiring at times, with equally restless camerawork. The other friends are sketched rather superficially. As is Matthias' relationship with his girlfriend, who we also barely get to see, which makes it hard to comprehend that he has a relationship at all. Or that something is at stake there.

Mediocre film about two friends, one of whom is soon to leave for a long time abroad. It takes a long time for the film to gain some direction and the two main characters did not really captivate me. The scenes in which a lot of talking is done at the same time do not really help either. Here and there it is nicely shot with slow-motion and a nice soundtrack.

The film starts off very messy. The conversations between the young men are very busy and disjointed.
As the film focuses more on the individuals, it becomes a bit calmer and the film starts to get an atmosphere.
The two main characters do their best and are endearing. That keeps the story interesting. They are not tough, but rather vulnerable and sensitive.
Ultimately a satisfying film.
So just look past the hustle and bustle at the beginning.
The (French) humor is also sometimes really not funny, but that too is slowly becoming less irritating.
