Bushi No Kondate plot
Not all samurai use a sword. Yasunobu Funaki, as the preeminent successor to a distinguished family of chefs in Kaga, reluctantly uses the kitchen knife. The proud samurai has no cooking skills at all until he marries a stubborn woman who teaches him the tricks of the trade. In the midst of a political revolt, Yasunobu must save his master and clan by preparing a banquet that showcases the splendor of Edo's richest domain while suggesting subtle signs of loyalty to the Shogun.
