Canary plot

Set in 1985 against a backdrop of apartheid, religion and war, the film follows a teenage boy, Johan Nobody, who is always bullied for his love of British new wave music and Boy George. After being called up to do military service, he auditions for the army choir, the Canaries. On tour, he develops feelings for a "fellow Canary" and begins to question everything he knows.
