Manu plot
"The Man with the Camera Hand"
In Manu, his daughter Emmanuelle takes the viewer on a playful and intimate journey through his life and work. In between acts, father and daughter have lively discussions about life, fatherhood and filmmaking. Manu, who prefers to hide behind the camera (“my lifelong mistress”), finally has to expose his buttocks. The brutal filmmaker of yesteryear has lost none of his sparkling, stubborn and keenly observant mind at the age of 77. A spirited yet tender dialogue develops between him and his filming daughter, resulting in a cheerful look at film, authenticity, ethics and memory. Although he suffers from Alzheimer's, Manu is still fully committed to a future film project, and his illness also manages to manipulate the full-blooded director in a tragicomic way.
