Perdida plot
"Never stop searching"
A teacher from a prestigious school in Buenos Aires goes on a study trip to Patagonia with 5 of her students, but returns with only 4 students because one mysteriously disappears. It's Cornelia Villalba, who ran off dancing in the forests of Patagonia. Later, one of the girls, who now works for the police, goes in search of her childhood/school friend. She embarks on a new quest to find answers, but soon finds herself in danger.

Perdida
Reasonable and mysterious police thriller. I say mysterious, but you can actually see every twist coming from a mile away. The problem with Perdida is that the film pretends that the viewer is stupid, and actually presents the twists as something brilliant. Some are so ridiculous that you can't help but laugh. What keeps the film together is the acting, the strong first part and the somewhat gloomy atmosphere. Too bad the second part is so ridiculous and laughable.

The film is actually somewhat disappointing because the director completely destroys his mysterious story in the second part due to the attitudes and reactions of certain characters. The mystery surrounding the disappearance is good, but afterwards there is a strange effect in which you can question the way certain characters act. I think of her boss, her colleague and her lost friend. 5/10

The beginning of this Argentinian thriller starts well, but does not really grab you because of the hazy story and flashbacks. The cast does their best and I also thought the setting was fine, worth a watch but not more than that.
