Kubanisch für Fortgeschrittene plot
Five German tourists check in at the small Cuban guest house "Esperanza". Richard, a wine merchant from Hamburg, has whisked his wife Ines to the Caribbean island to help her cope with the loss of their son. Margot, a recently retired school principal, hopes that the village school can be taken over. Rena, a beautician, hopes to increase her chances with the men by being able to omit her glasses with eye surgery in Cuba. However, she falls in love with Georg, a doctor from Halle, who goes in search of his roots in Cuba. The owners of Esperanza do everything they can to put a smile on their customers' faces.
