"The Wave Was Only The Beginning"

In 1904 Oslo was hit by an earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale. The earthquake had its epicenter in the "Oslo Graben" that runs under the Norwegian capital. Smaller earthquakes still occur in this area today. Geologists don't know for sure, but there are signs that we can expect a big future earthquake in Oslo. When no one can say for sure. Maybe in 100 years, maybe in 10 years, or maybe tomorrow.

In the beginning the movie is boring. We almost wanted to turn off the movie. Until finally a dialogue started to emerge. The characters came to life a bit more halfway through. When finally the earthquake starts it gets really exciting. Highly recommended. The special effects are amazing.

Ridiculously boring movie. Completely unrealistic in many ways. Rarely seen such a predictable story. The makers should have kept the credit to themselves and left it with the first part. What happens in part 3? A tropical storm in Norway or something? Or a volcanic eruption? What a joke.

Mme.

A bit of the same level as part 1 had. Nice build-up to the disaster, but overall too boring. Now earthquakes also seem like a duller concept to me than tidal waves, so expectations weren't very high when I went to see the film.

In a disaster film, the necessary clichés often pass by, but they have been repeated a lot in the meantime. The fact that this film redo them in full surrender does not make it any more unpredictable. The difference is that this film is a lot more uninteresting, with lots of sad looking faces and serious looks.

The above reason makes it difficult to get through the first hour. It's fine if a movie wants to be a little more subtle, but The Quake is mostly uninteresting. Lots of drama and gibberish, but it doesn't really interest you. The acting is also not great, everyone tries very hard to play a type but it doesn't work very well.

The eventual disaster is quite spectacular, but also over very quickly. The build-up to the disaster was classy, you're in good suspense for a while, but the earthquake is unfortunately over after 3 minutes. And then you wait for an hour. After that you get some aftermath happening again. An exact repeat of part 1.

The film has a number of exciting moments and fun parts in the second half. Here and there it is also a bit more unpredictable, with his wife who still dies, but in general it remains too much of a repetition of part 1. A repetition that unfortunately just like part 1 just doesn't work. to be so interesting. Hence the same number.
