Mapplethorpe plot

A look into the life of photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. In the 1970s he became famous for, among other things, his portrait photos and representations of flowers. Mapplethorpe meanwhile, until then, explores his repressed feelings toward men. He has a brief relationship with Patti Smith, but his ambitions threaten to destroy his relationships. He died in 1989 from the effects of AIDS.
