"The greatest journeys can lead us home."
A twelve-year-old Australian boy faces problems at home. He grows up in a dysfunctional Spanish immigrant family, which consists of several generations. The teenager does everything he can to escape the situation, but it turns out to be by no means easy.

A nice little role by Edward James Olmos. Who again? Lt. Castillo from Miami Vice, of course. But you don't have to see this film for that, and it's actually not entirely clear to me why. The plot is sleep-inducingly slow, and not exactly fun - 'drama' covers it, although pity is the predominant emotion at the end. First of all, with the boy in the lead role (played quite nicely by Michael Crisafulli). Paz Vega also participates - unrecognizable, not so much in appearance but because of her manner. You hardly have to look for that either.
