Piripkura plot
"The last two survivors"
Two of the only three known members of the Piripkura still live nomadically in the Amazon, in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso. Their most important possession is a torch that was lit in 1998 and has not gone out since. The area is surrounded by farms and sawmills. Its expansion is almost inevitable and is being fought over with violence. In order to maintain the protected status of this piece of rainforest, it must be proven that the two Indians still live here.
